Small Schools Indoor Athletics Champions
For those of you who weren't aware, I would love to share the news with you on our success at the Lancashire Small Schools Indoor Athletics Competition. Our team performed in a variety of track and field events. After points were counted up, it was announced that, out of sixteen schools...we had won! As expected, our team was delighted. Not only is everyone at school very proud of your performance, we are also proud of the teamwork you showed, the good sportsmanship you displayed and all the hours of training you have put in over the months leading up to the competition.
This is a huge achievement!
Gold Mark Award 2015/2016
I am extremely pleased to announce we have been awarded Gold in the Sainsbury's School Games scheme. All of the staff and children in school work very hard to achieve this. Without the support of parents, it goes without saying, this wouldn't be possible.
Below, you will find a link to the Sainsbury’s School Games site, an initiative set up to motivate children to get involved in sport.

Our girls team performed so well they were placed in silver medal position. Well done team Rufford!
Y3/4 Cross Country - 3.5.17

Extra Curricular Sporting Success 2016/2017
Alicia represented Rufford in the Southport Waterloo Athletic Club one mile races for schools at Victoria park in Southport. In the year 6 girls race she came 3rd!
Well done Alicia.
A huge well done to Evie, Millie and Charlotte who took part in the UK Gymnastics North Region Qualifiers on Sat 22nd and Sun 23rd April.
Evie was competing for the first time at Level 8. Despite the new level meaning some very tough competition, she gained a Silver for her Vault and Bar routines.
Millie and Charlotte were taking part in the Level 10 competition. Millie won Gold on Floor and Bronze on Beam in her first ever UK competition. Charlotte won Gold for both Vault and Floor.
All of the girls now have to wait till the end of May to find out if they qualified for the national finals in Milton Keynes in October.
We have our fingers crossed for you here at Rufford.
